I am a profession musician/composer with a masters in music instruction
I work independently and have limited openings. I work with students that have a real love of music and are earnest about learning and can be dedicated to practicing.
I am a very passionate, organized, focused teacher that can help you advance as far as you want to go (several former long-term students have been accepted in high-school & regional bands and noted college music programs). So if you are serious and want a teacher that is as well . . .I am look forward to speaking with you about your goals and how to get you there.

Music Teaching Philosophy
By Rob Ryndak
I am a composer who plays piano and percussion. I have spent most of my adult life going deeper and deeper into the world of music with these instruments. By my example of living life as a creative person, I desire to share with my students what I have learned from self-discovery and through the guidance of past inspirational teachers. I am able to assist others with understanding the creative process and how it has worked for me and other jazz musicians. For example, my organizational skills and discipline to practice helps create art.
I encourage my students to find their own voice and be open-minded by exploring all styles and cultures of music. I expose them to Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, African, Mainstream and Smooth Jazz, etc. My own compositions, especially the recorded tunes are an example of all these styles and cultures blended together. I honor and appreciate them and I am richer for it. In return, the broader exposure I give my students the richer their unique voice will be.
I am passionate about my life as a musician and dedicated to the journey of artistry. I am a role model of how to go about the task of developing technique and working with your strengths and limitations as a performer. I value simplicity, and I have lessons in “less is more” for writing and improvising. It is perfectly okay to keep things simple and go with what feels right.
I teach with an attitude of moving slow and deliberate until the assignment is mastered. Through this type of preparation, confidence and the ability to concentrate are acquired. I am an instructor who at the same time is a life-long student. This attitude breeds humility. I relate well with my students because I am constantly aware of the joys, fears and difficulties of learning music. I challenge myself in order to develop my skills as an educator, composer and performer; but I also go out of my comfort zone to stay in touch with the realities of being a student.
